The UUASC is for all persons using UNIX either personally or professionally, or interested in learning more about UNIX. We recognize all varieties of UNIX, including (without prejudice) SCO, Linux, SVr4, Solaris, AIX, HP/UX, and BSD. This is a good place to meet others with similar interests and broaden your skills and knowledge.

There are two UUASC chapters serving Los Angeles and Orange Counties. Details on meeting locations for each chapter are below. We are always looking for interesting presentations and your suggestions are most welcome.

There are no dues or other membership requirements. More than 300 persons receive our monthly meeting announcements. Meeting attendance varies to as high as 75. The club is managed by a team of volunteers, but more volunteers are always needed.

Both UUASC chapters are open to everyone; there is no separate membership (and, don't forget, it's free!). Meeting locations and program details can be found through the following links. Choose whichever meeting location is most convenient to you - or come to both meetings!

• UUASC membership is defined by those persons who subscribe to the general or announcements mailing lists. To join either list, follow the online instructions. Please do not subscribe to both lists as that will cause you to receive some duplicate messages.
• UUASC policy requires that subscribers to the general list provide their real names when subscribing. If your email software doesn't do that automatically, please fix it or write to a real person.
• If you are already on the UUASC general mailing list, you may post to that list.
• The UUASC also maintains a separate mailing list for job announcements. To join this list, follow the online instructions.
• Anyone can post job announcements to the UUASC jobs mailing list. Please see the list description for details.
• For any other club business, please write to a real person.
