Linux Data Base Madness

Monday, January 11, 7-9 pm

Many vendors are jumping into the Linux world lately. A bevy of commercial data base systems for Linux have recently been released, including Oracle, Sybase, Informix, and DB2. Of course, the original DBMSs for Linux remain, including Solid and MySQL. Perhaps you've wondered why you should want to use one of these commercial systems when free alternatives are available?

Member and Data Base Princess Deirdre Saoirse has used or experimented with all these programs. At the UUASC January meeting, she will tell us about the relative strengths of the various platforms and the requirements of each of the them. Bring your questions!
