PC Networking Using Linux

Monday, October 13, 7-9 pm

The City of Garden Grove has been using Linux to support all the City's networking needs since November 1995. PC file and printer sharing, intranet, web server, DNS, Pick data base, and firewall are all Linux-based. The network spans the campus environment and supports over 300 PCs and 60 printers. At the UUASC October meeting, Robert Shingledecker, MIS Manager for the City of Garden Grove, will outline the planning and milestones required to implement this unique environment based on "free" software.
