Pavan has provided a copy of his slides.

The UUASC-OC meeting for March brings us a presentation from Pavan Venkatesh of Oracle Corporation. Pavan will talk to us about the new features in the recent 5.5 release of MySQL.

Pavan's talk will cover MySQL 5.5 'state of the dolphin', in particular focusing on performance and scalability enhancements in the latest release along with the new "semi-synchronous" replication mode.

In addition, Pavan will speak about a few of the features that are specifically available to Enterprise customers like the MySQL monitor and database backups.

Pavan is a Senior Sales consultant at Oracle where he specializes in MySQL. He has extensive experience working with Oracle customers in a Technical Account Management role as well as implementing proof-of-concept pilot projects for MySQL.
