Our May meeting in OC features a return engagement by UUASC and Engineers Without Borders member Israel Lopez. Last July, Israel spoke to us about the site survey and planning for a wireless network in Honduras. Now that the network has been implemented, we will learn about the challenges of the actual implementation. Israel has recently returned from a March 2010 implementation of the Educational Network in Juticalpa, Olancho, Honduras. He will be presenting his experiences, the successes, and things learned from implementing a wireless network in a developing country, working with people over the internet, and the on the ground challenges the team faced and how they overcame them. This presentation will be video recorded for later playback.
Israel Lopez is a small business owner of Sandbox IT Solutions LLC, a web hosting firm, and Fishbooks Pro, an accounting services firm.
