This month we will have a presentation by Carl Gelbright from Infobright.

Infobright is a column-oriented database that is optimized for data warehouse applications. It is implemented as a MySQL storage engine plugin. Carl will describe the database architecture, and explain how Infobright can improve overall database performance through column-oriented compression and query optimization. Carl will also describe the differences between the Infobright Community Edition and the commercial version.

Carl has over 14 years experience in the Business Intelligence/Data Warehouse space including detailed technical knowledge of various database products, BI tools, ETL tools, Unix/Linux, Windows. He is well versed in data architecture, system architecture, project management, hardware configurations, and system administration.
