PostgreSQL Replication

Monday, March 10, 7-9 pm

UUASC already featured talks on both MySQL and MySQL clustering, so now it is time to turn the tables and present this long-overdue talk about a competing open source database technology.

At the March meeting of UUASC-OC, our own database expert Konstantin Antselovich makes his UUASC speaking debut by providing us with an overview of PostgreSQL replication and what solutions are available for it.

Konstantin will discuss different replication methods, their intended use, and implementations for PostgreSQL. Then, he will demonstrate Slony-I, an open source software package that has become a popular choice for replicating PostgreSQL databases.

Konstantin is the IT Director for SmartLink, where he is in charge of a PostgreSQL database running on Linux.
