Embedded Java

Monday, September 11, 7-9 pm

Java has grown dramatically as a language of choice for nearly every form of computing from very high end ERP systems to smart cards.

At the September meeting of UUASC-OC, Sun Microsystems is sending to us a Java expert to update us on the latest developments of Java within embedded applications, and let us in on the buzz around SunSpots, a new embedded Java sensor package.

Sun's Mark Iskra will tell us how real-time extensions added to the Java specification have enabled use of Java in time-critical embedded systems. This program for all Java enthusiasts and programmers.

Mark is a senior systems engineer with 10 years of experience in Sun's OEM software sales organization, the group responsible for licensing Java in embedded applications.
