UNIX LDAP Authentication Integration with Microsoft Active Directory

Monday, August 8, 7-9 pm

Matt has made his slides available.

"UNIX LDAP authentication integration with Microsoft Active Directory" is a lot of words, and to celebrate the start of our second year at Sun Microsystems' Irvine offices, we will sort out what they all mean. Our own Matt Ingenthron of Sun, who has presented to us many exciting topics in the past, will now demonstrate how Sun's Directory Server Enterprise Edition can integrate any number of open applications together with even the darkest sides.

Matt will show how users can authenticate to Solaris and Linux (other OSs are possible) through LDAP. He will also demonstrate how Sun Java System Directory EE can transparently and securely synchronize user passwords and even handle account creations and inactivations in either a unidirectional or bidirectional fashion.

Matt is a technical specialist in Sun's Enterprise Web Services practice of Client Solutions. He helps customers west of the Rockies understand, and integrate Sun Java System software into their environment to solve business needs.
