This applet requires JDK 1.1 support from your browser. At the time of this writing, this support is limited. The AppletViewer from the 1.1 JDK (Java Development Kit) is always the first browser to support new Java technology.

Netscape provides a patch for the Win32 version of Communicator 4.03 at http://developer.netscape.com/. The UNIX version is to be available "within the next few weeks". As noted in the Release Notes for this patch, do not apply the patch if you are a Netcaster user. Netcaster users should wait for an update to the patch which was to be available about a week ago.

Microsoft's IE support is rumored, but unexplored.

This program can be run as a standalone Java program, as an alternative to running it in a browser. This requires either the 1.1 JDK or JRE (Java Runtime Environment). To run this as an application, download Calc.jar, unzip this archive into a directory ("unzip Calc.jar"), then after installing the JDK or JRE, run the program with "java Calc".

Linux users are out of luck for the moment. As of a couple weeks ago this program crashed the Linux port of the 1.1.3 JVM (Java Virtual Machine).
