Here's the notes I took on how to connect the projector at Sun
Irvine offices.
It's really pretty simple if you don't assume that you should set
the switch to 'laptop' to use a laptop.
- Projector power on (duh..)
- The small Extron video switch in podium should be set for 'Sun',
not 'Laptop'.
- Set projector input to 'computer 1'.
You can do this with either the Proxima remote control, or the LCD
touch screen control on the podium.
On the LCD it's labeled 'front computer', not computer 1.
If the LCD isn't working, it may be turned off in the AV closet at
the back of the room.
Make sure that the LCD remote control box is turned on in the small
rack in this room if the LCD does not light up when you touch it.
Nothing will work if this is off.
If you can't figure out which box in the rack is the LCD remote box,
just be sure that everything is turned on.
- There are 3 cables that come out of a hole drilled in the bottom of
the podium.
1 goes to video connection on the wall, 1 power, and 1 video cable
that may or may not be connected to the Sun Ray box.
Connect this last cable to the laptop for the presentation.
- The other video cable may be the one that works when the Extron
switch is set to 'laptop', but I didn't test this.
- Don't connect anything to the silver outlet plate on the top
of the podium.
It's a decoy.
Hope this helps in the event I'm not around for the meeting.
